The primary assignment for next week (due Wednesday) is to put together all the pieces of your revised proposal (working as groups this time) so that by the end of the week we have complete research proposals for all projects. The goal is to be in a position to move completely into the research phase of the course after spring break. To review what your revised proposal is to include, see this page.

There will be an optional quiz on Tuesday next week. You may take this in order to boost your average on the skills portion of the course.  The quiz will take about half an hour and will cover all the activities, online reading assignments, and associated materials.

  2. Provide bibliographical information on two additional references you found that have direct relevance to your project. These should not be URLs unless they link to journal articles or article summaries. You may also include page references to books.
BR442 Do this during Tuesday's class period:
  1. Fine tune your research question if necessary.
  2. Confer with me if you need guidance.
  3. Work on expanding your bibliography. (see item 2f here) Use computer searches as well as my library. If you need something from the NCSSM library, let me know.
  4. Send your email (see info to the left).

For Wednesday, prepare a draft of an introduction to your revised proposal. Include your bibliography. Each student will do this independently even if you're working in groups. See this example. In the example, note how each of the listings in the bibliography is referred to specifically in the introduction. Do the same in your introduction. You shouldn't have any references that you don't refer to in your introduction.
